diversity night

2008 Youth Speak! Diversity Night at the Artisan. Kids and teens from around Columbia were invited to come and present their original poems, essays, songs, raps, and dances to celebrate diversity and the life of Martin Luther King, Jr.

I shot for the Saturday Missourian, not sure when or if it will run. Here are a couple of shots and a mosaic of portraits I took with my ring light.

what ring light set up are you using?

it's homemade...i looked at a few plans online then kind of improvised with what i could find at the store. basically it's a small bowl surrounded by a pasta strainer, with a pvc pipe connecting them, and a hole in the bottom of the strainer to insert my speedlight. it looks 100% amateur but i've been having a lot of fun with it...i'll post a pic of it at some point.

ah, I built one, but haven't put it too much use as it doesn't seem to put out much light and is rather cumbersome.

I'd really like to use it as fill light for portraits...I'm a sucker for the look
