spring break six: truman

a patroller from sea turtle, inc. spotted a kemp's ridley sea turtle stranded on the beach in south padre on our first day of work. it was covered in barnacles and very close to death. we helped jeff and the interns give the turtle steroid injections and draw blood for testing. despite rescuing the turtle the workers were pessimistic about its chances for survival. we named it truman.

dogtown parade

i went to the dogtown parade in st. louis with my family today. i hadn't been there in a long time, and although this is the more traditional, "irish" parade, the crowd was a little bit country, a little bit rock 'n' roll, and a little bit wasted.
