martin

on friday danny wilcox frazier came to town to give a workshop on personal vision. i'm so glad i participated, it was an incredibly intense and rewarding experience. eleven of us were sent to paquin towers to shoot all day, before going home for a group edit and presentation. i think we captured the spirit of the place...i'm still so proud of and awed by what we as a group were able to come together and create.

this is martin, my subject for the day. he's 68, and has lived in paquin for 4 years. he shares an apartment with his friend jerome. it was really tough to connect with martin because it was almost impossible to understand what he was saying most of the day. he spent most of the day painting in the art room

.

jerome

jerome is martin's roommate. he was born in boone hospital on april 12, 1931. as a teenager, he took photos for the tribune before joining the air force. he was watched the price is right in the morning then slept for the rest of the day.
